However, they are in an area of the shelter that is not open to the public. The Front Street Animal Shelter is located at 2127 Front Street (with a cross-street of Broadway) and is open from 12 pm to 5 pm, 7 days a week. Current Services

When you adopt from LMAS, you will be rescuing a homeless pet from your community. LMAS has found homes for thousands of pets through free and donation-based adoption programs. Animal services will waive adoption fees for all senior adopters, age 60 or order, on all senior cats and dogs, age 6 or older. Dogs and cats have been spayed or neutered microchipped, vaccinated, and have current county tags. We have adoptable dogs and cats as well as other adoptable pets at our Animal Services shelter.

Potential adopters can still meet adoptable pets until close of business. This is a donation-based program funded by the nonprofit Friends of Metro Animal Services which raises money in support of LMAS, and public donations. The PIF program makes it possible for LMAS to waive adoption fees for certain shelter pets and never expires.

Animals receive the same high-quality veterinary care as pets visiting private veterinarians. You can help stop the overpopulation crisis that leads to extremely crowded animal shelters. Sign PETA’s pledge to end animal homelessness, always have your animal companions spayed or neutered, and never buy an animal from a breeder or pet shop. For example, a Pennsylvania man who tried to surrender his dog to a no-kill shelter was told that he would have to make an appointment to return two weeks later when the facility might have room.

Meet adoptable animals during this Adoption Event at Mounds Pet Food Warehouse on Stoughton Road. Open your home temporarily to a homeless animal in need. Tags must be renewed one year from the last date of purchase. Animal cruelty is defined as depriving an animal of food, water, shelter or veterinary care. This week’s pets are looking for new homes with loving families. Pet Dealer Licenses are issued for anyone who sells more than two litters or 20 dogs or cats per year, whichever is greater.

Adopters are potential homes, and we don’t want the dogs to miss out on a forever home opportunity. This means that the animal has received a health check, is ready for interaction, and adoption.
